Logan, Utah

Terrence (Terry) Malouf, 89, son of Taufik (Tufi) Gabriel and Ruth Crews Malouf, passed away in Logan, Utah February 12, 2025. Born in Twin Falls, Idaho, Terry moved to Logan at an early age. Although he lived in various locations throughout his life, Logan was always home to him.

He was a graduate of Logan High School and a cadet in its ROTC program.

He graduated from Utah State University in 1957, where he was a member of the Army ROTC and the Sigma Chi fraternity.

After college, Terry joined the U.S. Army, where he became an Army Ranger and a paratrooper, earning the rank of First Lieutenant. He met Rose, his wife of 65 years, while stationed in Colorado. During his time in the Army, he was an award-winning marksman, an exhibition mountain climber, and a member of the Mountain Rescue team at Fort Carson.

After the Army, he worked for Mode O’ Day, a women’s dress factory, as plant manager at several locations. During these years he was active in many civic roles, including president of the local Jaycees.

He later worked for Levi-Strauss, eventually working at its headquarters in San Francisco. Terry was an International Financial Audit Supervisor and traveled to over 30 countries in addition to working at numerous domestic locations.

As a young man in Logan, he participated in the Logan Boy Scouts Troop 1, the first Boy Scout Troop west of the Mississippi. He also enjoyed working on the family farm of his friend from the third grade, Don S. Peterson.

In later years, Terry enjoyed sports, running, coaching youth baseball, scuba diving, and dirt biking.

As a mountain climber, he summited the Grand Teton in 1975 with his childhood friend, the late Dr. Lewis M. (Beetle) Turner, Jr.

Terry is survived by his wife Rose Mary Inda Malouf, his son Christopher (Penny), his daughter Mary, and his younger brother Carl (Jeri). His youngest brother, Robert (Bob) Franklin Malouf, predeceased him in 2005. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be announced at a later date.
