LOGAN - Terry Lee Gnehm, passed away June 4,2005 from injuries sustained in a farming accident. Terry was born April 18, 1947 in Logan, Utah to Alfred Henry (Alf) and Frances Lily (Fonnesbeck) Gnehm. Terry grew up in Logan helping his father on the dairy, where the Cache Valley Mall now stands. He grew to have a great love for farming and being outdoors. He graduated from Logan High School. Terry served in the Army for a three year term. He was stationed for thirteen months in Vietnam as a vehicle mechanic. Upon returning to the states he was stationed in Washington D.C. where he delivered mail under the pentagon. After his discharge in 1969, he returned to Cache Valley where he once again did what he loved best, farm. Terry was an avid farmer and raised beef cattle. He married Colleen Viehweg, November 16, 1974. They continued to live on his farm in Logan where they raised three children. Terry worked many years with his father on the Logan River and canal system here in the valley and knew it well. He was later appointed Commissioner for the Logan River water system and later upon its conception, Commissioner for the Lower Bear River system. He loved being able to get out and visit with the other farmers in the valley and was grateful for the many friends he had made throughout the many years serving in these positions. Terry suffered for many years with MS, which continued to slow him down but not stop him. He was fortunate to be able to continue to do what he loved best, farm. Terry is survived by his wife Colleen; Logan, daughter JoAnn (Jared) Kelm and two special granddaughters Jessica and Jocelyn; Mesa, Arizona, son Garth (Carri); Logan, daughter Heather (Frank) Kelley; Logan, sister Carol (Joe) Fuhriman; Providence, and his faithful friend Betsy. He was preceded in death by his father and mother. We are grateful for the kind and knowledgeable medical staff at the University Medical Center who have helped him and just recently the many angels at the LDS Hospital in SLC.
