WELLSVILLE, UTAH: Thayle Rose Eliason beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away peacefully to be with Jesus on Saturday, November 12, 2005. He was at home, where he so wanted to be, surrounded by his loving family. Thayle put up a strong battle fighting the lung cancer that entered his body fourteen months ago.
He was the twelfth born and ninth son of Kate Rose and Richard Basil Eliason born on November 20, 1948 in Logan, UT. Thayle spent his early childhood growing up and running around the small town of Wellsville with his brother Doug and other close friends. He attended Wellsville Elementary, Wellsville Jr. High and Sky View High School.
Thayle began laying carpet as a teenager with his brother Dick, moving on to Las Vegas working with Boyd’s Carpet Service. After returning to Cache Valley he worked for another brother, Steve, at Steve’s Carpet Barn for 21 years. In May of 1998 Thayle went to work at Utah State University Facilities in the Finishing Department and worked there until his illness in September 2004.
Thayle loved camping in the mountains with his family and riding dirt bikes with his grandchildren. Thayle had a life long dream of owning a Harley-Davidson and was blessed to purchase one in 2001. He and his wife, Marilyn, rode with the Cache Christian Crusaders where he was president at the time of his passing. Thayle and Marilyn enjoyed many rode trips on their HD in and out of the state. In 2002 they enjoyed a week long trip to Sturgis, South Dakota.
Thayle was not only an accomplished floor-covering specialist, but had many, many hobbies that he enjoyed. He challenged himself in plumbing, electrical work. and building his own home. He had many other talents, which he shared and was always willing to help and do for others. Thayle loved puttering in his workshop, fixing things and building wood toys for his son and grandsons.
He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Marilyn. Son, Stephen (Carlene) Eliason and daughters Lacee (Sammy) Low and Skye Eliason all of Wellsville. He has three grandsons, Brockton Thayle and Brayton Steve Eliason, and Landon Thayle Low.
He is also survived by siblings, (twins) Paul Eliason of Sweden and Pauline Eliason of Brea, CA., brothers, Stephen (Marilyn) Eliason of Logan and Douglas Eliason of Las Vegas, NV. He is survived by three sister-in-laws, Sally (Pete), Daisy Del (Boyd) of Las Vegas, NV., and Shirley (Dick) of Preston, ID. He was honored to have 29 nieces and nephews, 91 great nieces and nephews and 32 great/great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Rose, infant brother, twins Calvin/infant sister, brothers Pete, Boyd and Richard (Dick).
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, November 16, 2005, at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E Center, Logan, UT. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2005 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Allen-Hall Mortuary and prior to services on Wednesday beginning at 11:00 AM a the mortuary. Graveside services following at the Wellsville City Cemetery.
