Theda Smith

PROVIDENCE, UTAH: Theda Rae Rasmussen Smith, 86, returned to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on May 6, 2013.

Theda was born on September 16, 1926 in Malta, Idaho to Frank F. and Pearl C. Rasmussen. She spent her childhood on her parents farm in Springdale, Idaho where she learned the value of hard work and the importance of family. She was an only child until age 17 when her brother, Gary was born. She was surrounded by many cousins in that small community that provided her with companionship and love. On June 21, 1946 Theda married Golden L. Larsen in Burley, Idaho. They were blessed with three children, Luana, Shelly and Cary. After 21 years of marriage they were divorced. She later married Jerry C. Smith on December 7, 2002 in the Logan LDS Temple. Mom worked as a CNA at Sunshine Terrace for over 30 years and was a dedicated , dependable employee. She was a loving and caring mom, grandma and great grandma and during the last year of her life she had a little great great granddaughter that brought many smiles to her face. Mom loved flowers and spent many hours in the yard planting and weeding.

Theda is survived by two daughters and one son; Luana and Brent Petersen; Shelley and Gary Wilson; Cary and Kristie Larsen. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Gary D. Rasmussen and her husband Jerry C. Smith.

Graveside services will be held Friday at 11:00 am in the Providence Cemetery. There will be a viewing from 9:30 - 10:30 am at the Allen-Hall Mortuary. Condolences may be shared online at www.allenmortuaries.net
