Thornton Orlynn Myers (better known as Lynn or T.O.) passed away on February 26, 2016 surrounded by his family. Lynn was born on May 26, 1934, in Wellsville, Utah, the second of three children to William Jones Myers and Sylvia Alice Jensen. He graduated from South Cache High School in 1953. He worked at Morton Thiokol for 35 years, retiring in 1995.
Lynn married the love of his life, Norma Baker on April 22, 1966 in the Logan Temple. This year they were planning to celebrate their 50th anniversary. Together, they raised a close family of seven children. They also spent 10 years working in the Logan Temple. He considered this Temple work his mission.
He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them especially with outdoors activities, including hunting, fishing, camping, rafting, cook-outs in the Mendon/Wellsville Mountains as well as in the back yard, and listening to cowboy music. He supported his children and then his grandchildren by cheering for them at soccer games, volleyball games, baseball and softball games, swim meets, and pine-wood derby or other scouting events. He also loved to work with wood and has made at least one rocking horse for each of his grandchildren.
Lynn was a hard worker and had unique and crazy ways of instilling the value of hard work in his children. From weeding the garden, to chopping and hauling cords of firewood, digging weeds out of the pasture, to taking care of farm animals, there was always plenty of work to be done.
He was engaged in the community as a volunteer fireman and later served on the town planning and zoning board.
He is survived by his wife Norma Baker Myers, his sister Mary Myers Draper (Larry), his children Brian (Teresa), Kristine (Robert) Agers-Mooney, Nancy (Terry) Boharsik, Rusty (Dana), Wayne (Amber), Jolene (Kody) Merritt, Paul (Gentry), 20 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother William (Roy) Myers, and three sons, John, Mark and Moroni.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday evening, March 1st from 6 to 8pm at Allen-Hall Mortuary located at 34 E Center Street, in Logan. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m on Wednesday, March 2nd, with a viewing prior to services from 9:30 to 10:30am at the Mendon Stake Center located at 460 S. 100 E., Mendon.
