Los Angeles

Tim Alan Treseder, 64, of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away at home on February 5, 2025, of natural causes. Tim was born on October 14, 1960, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Rex and Verda Treseder, where he spent the majority of his life.

Tim graduated from Olympus High School and went on to play football at Weber State University. He furthered his education at the University of Utah, where he became a Utes fan. Tim also served an LDS mission in the Pennsylvania Philadelphia Mission and briefly served in the military before beginning a career in sales.

Tim met and married Debby Buttars Holbrook, and they raised a family together. Shortly after marrying, Tim pursued his dream of starting his own business, opening LumenEx Audio Visual, which he ran for nearly a decade.

Tim was actively involved in the LDS church and the scouting program throughout his life, where he mentored countless young men and helped them develop leadership skills.

In addition to his professional and church activities, Tim took immense pride in building his home in Layton, Utah, where he lived for over 20 years. He enjoyed working with his hands, spending countless hours perfecting his home and garden. Music was a constant presence in his home, often inspiring some of his signature dance moves. His home was a testament to his dedication, craftsmanship, and love for his family.

A lifelong learner, Tim was passionate about studying American history, with a particular interest in WWII due to his father and uncle's service. His patriotism and military service inspired two of his children to go on to serve their country as well.

Tim was deeply devoted to his family. He cherished moments spent teaching and coaching his children in sports, taking them camping, and capturing their activities on video. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing, running, and mountain biking, sharing these hobbies with family and friends.

Tim will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering commitment to his family, friends, and community. He touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his ex-wife Debby Buttars Holbrook and his children: Clarissa Treseder Jones, Dane Treseder, Kelsey Treseder, Livia Treseder, and Tori Treseder, and his grandchildren: Jayda Jones, Jenson Jones, and Leon Treseder. He also is survived by his brothers, William Treseder and Kelly Treseder, and was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Terry Treseder.  Arrangments by Allen-Hall Mortuary, Logan , Utah.
