Timothy Michael Neville

June 1, 1949 — March 21, 2025

Logan, Utah – With profound love and cherished memories, we announce the passing of Timothy Michael Neville, 75, who departed this life peacefully on March 21, 2025, at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah, surrounded by his devoted family.

Born on June 1,1949, in American Falls, Idaho, to Shelby and Greta Neville, Tim’s life was one of quiet strength, unwavering dedication, and strong work ethic. From his earliest days on the family farm, where he learned the values of hard work and resilience, to his years shaping young minds as an educator, he left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

As a young boy, Tim embraced the demanding yet rewarding life of farm work. He diligently milked four cows by hand each morning and night, bucked hay bales, drove tractors, and hand-irrigated fields. Through these experiences, he developed a deep appreciation for the land and a lifelong love for animals. His many dogs and cats were more than just pets—they were loyal companions who brought him endless joy and comfort throughout his life.

A proud graduate of Aberdeen High School’s Class of 1967, Tim pursued his passion for learning at Idaho State University, earning a degree in Education. He dedicated 34 years to teaching and mentoring as the drama, debate and speech coach at Wood River High School in Hailey, Idaho. With wisdom, humor, and a steadfast belief in his students, he led them to remarkable success, securing 15 district debate championships and 9 Idaho State titles. His impact reached far beyond trophies and accolades—he inspired confidence, curiosity, and the courage to find one’s voice. In recognition of his profound influence in education, he was honored with the Idaho State High School Activities Association (IHSAA) Distinguished Service Award, and inducted into the IHSAA Hall of Fame, a tribute to his life’s work.

Tim’s love for nature was as deep as his love for teaching. Each summer, he found sanctuary in the wild beauty of Idaho’s Sawtooth National Recreation Area, serving as a ranger and wild land fire fighter for the U.S. Forest Service. With a deep reverence for the land, he patrolled its trails, safeguarded its campsites, and shared his knowledge of conservation and fire prevention, ensuring that others could experience the same wonder he so deeply treasured. He enjoyed camping and spending time with his family in the quiet beauty of the wilderness.

A man of faith and service, Tim was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had an unwavering testimony of his Savior, Jesus Christ. His heart for others shone through in the many roles he fulfilled, such as serving on several high councils, in the elders quorum, and as bishop of the Hailey 2nd Ward. He ministered with kindness, wisdom, and a gentle humility, ever ready to lend a listening ear or extend a helping hand.

Tim had a lifelong love for classic cars, finding joy in collecting them and sharing his passion with others. In his retirement, he enjoyed attending car shows, either as a proud participant or an eager spectator, always appreciating the beauty and history of each vehicle. His presence at local car shows will be missed, but his love for classic automobiles will continue to inspire those who knew him.

Tim was a proud member of the Sons of Utah Pioneers, honoring the legacy of those who came before him. He had a deep appreciation for history and took great pride in reading and preserving the stories and heritage of Utah’s pioneers.

Above all, Tim was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His greatest joy was his family. Tim met the love of his life, Anne Marie, when she arrived in Hailey for her student teaching, and from the moment he saw her, it was love at first sight. On February 15, 1975, they began their beautiful journey together as husband and wife. This year, they joyfully celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, a milestone marking a lifetime of love, devotion, and shared memories.

Tim is survived by his wife Anne Neville (née Thomason); his daughter, Angela Neville Repasi (Doug); his five sons, Steve Neville (Pamilla), Adam Neville (Heidi), Paul Neville (Erin) Vaughn Neville and Mark Neville (Annika); and twenty treasured grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Shelby and Greta Neville, and his two brothers, Vaughn and Gale Neville.
