Tyra Salisbury Anderson, a devoted spouse and mother of two children, died unexpectedly on June 2, 2022 at the age of 28 in Wamego, Kansas in a single-car motor vehicle crash. She was driving her two children, ages 2.5 and 10 months, to story time at the park hosted by the Wamego Public Library.
Tyra is survived by her two children, Brennen (2.5 years old) and Isaac (10 months old); her husband, Andrew Anderson; her parents, Blake Salisbury and Laura Salmon Salisbury; and her siblings, Jared, Jacklyn, Callie, and Matlin. She is predeceased by her paternal grandfather, Frank B. Salisbury.
Tyra was born in Redding, California on July 17, 1993. She graduated in the top 25 of her high school class of 400, completed an 18 month Spanish-speaking mission for her church to San Antonio, Texas, graduated from Brigham Young University with a Biochemistry major, and completed two years of medical school at the West Lafayette campus at Indiana University School of Medicine, earning a master’s of medical sciences. She married Andrew, her perfect match, on July 27, 2018 at the Idaho Falls temple in Idaho. On December 13, 2019 and August 12, 2021, she welcomed her two beautiful sons, who were the most important part of her life. They lived in Brownsburg, Indiana before moving to St. George, Kansas for her husband’s graduate training at Kansas State.
Tyra was a devoted mother and spouse. She was an avid cook, baker, and gardener. She had her own wood working and crafting business and loved to create things. She showered love upon everyone and was loved by everyone who knew her. She loved to envision herself as sunshine and her favorite flowers were sunflowers. She had the brightest smile. She was service-oriented, kind, and grateful. She was deeply spiritual, she loved God, and was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
A viewing is scheduled for June 10, 2022 at 7:00 PM at the Allen Mortuary in North Logan, 420 E. 1800 N., where flowers may be sent. A funeral service is scheduled on June 11, 2022 at 10:00 AM at the the Lundstrom Park 3rd Ward Church building in Logan, Utah at 1260 North 1600 East.
