PROVIDENCE, UTAH - Our loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Vada Wheeler Robinson Rinderknecht, age 90 passed away unexpectedly Friday March 5th at her home in Providence, Utah.
Vada was born October 5, 1919 in (Felt) Teton Valley, Idaho. She was the 14th child of Elijah Robinson and Lucinda Alimeda Wheeler Robinson. She and her twin sister, Veda, weighed in at 4 and 3 1/2 Ibs. Her earlier years were spent on the family farm without electricity and running water. At a young age the family moved to Perry, Utah and later Providence, Utah. She graduated from South Cache High School in 1939 and attended Utah State Agriculture College. She worked in Washington, D.C. for the U.S. Navy Department during WWII.
On November l8, 1942, she married her sweetheart, Joe Rinderknecht, in the Salt Lake City Temple. They made their home on the family farm in Providence. From this marriage, six children were born.
Vada retired from First Security Bank after working 29 1/2 years. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club and was honored as the woman of the year. Vada was active in the LDS church having served in many callings. She was a volunteer at the temple for many years. One of her proudest accomplishments was graduating from Logan Institute of Religion in 1991.
Vada loved genealogy, quilting, going to breakfast with her family and above all was proud of her children, grand children and great grandchildren. Vada and her friend, Opal Chugg, were avid USU Aggie basketball fans having missed only 2 games in the last 20 years. They loved the excitement and her cheers will be missed!
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 6 brothers; 5 sisters; and one grandson. She is survived by 1 brother, Richard Robinson (Lavoy); a twin sister, Veda John; a sister in-law, Ruth Robinson; She is survived by her children and spouses, Jay (Karen) Paradise, Utah; Judy Baldwin (Mark) Wellsville, Utah; J. Odell (Jan) Howell, Utah; Susan Williams (Mike) Logan, Utah; Kim (Annette) Vernal, Utah; Boyd (Renee) Providence, Utah; 32 grandchildren and 54 great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held Monday, March 8th from 6pm to 8pm at the Allen Hall Mortuary located at 34 E. Center Street, Logan, Utah. A celebration of her life will be Tuesday, March 9th in the Providence 4th Ward church, 100 North 100 East in Providence at 12 noon. A viewing will be held from 10:30 -11:30 am prior to services.
