Val Dee Moser
March 16, 1959 - September 19, 2012
Our most beloved father, son, brother, husband, grandfather, and friend, Val Dee Moser passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2012. Val was born on March 16, 1959, on the second wedding anniversary of his parents, Alma Porter Moser and Alyce Kay Squires Moser.
Val was the second oldest of 8 children. He grew up in North Logan, Utah. He had a strong work ethic and intense love for his family and friends which was instilled in him from his amazing parents. He has passed on this legacy to his children and has taught all of us to aim higher and become better.
Val excelled in any endeavor he undertook. As a 1977 graduate of Sky View High School, he was a National Merit Scholarship Finalist and was awarded membership into the National Honor Society.
Val was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and filled an honorable mission in the Japan Okayama mission. He returned home with a deep and abiding love for the people of Japan. His admiration for them, helped shape the person he became. Years after his mission he had several opportunities to return to Japan to work in Tokyo for Morton International.
Val received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at Utah State University. He went on to work at Morton International in Ogden, and then as an Applications Engineer with Campbell Scientific in Logan, since 1996.
In July of 1984 Val married his sweetheart and counterpart, Abigail Reddig. They are the parents of 8 wonderful children; Christopher, Tara, Caleb, Rachael Nicole, Jalan, Joshua, Adam and Aaron, and grandparents of Matthew B. Gaines. Val cherished each and every child and was an amazing father.
Val had numerous friends and an especially sweet relationship with his grandmother, Georgia Rose Squires. He was a loyal and deeply caring friend to all. He always had everyone's back. He was brilliant, capable, and always had the answer. Val showed his love to friends and family by barbequing and cooking and sharing delicious meals large enough to feed an army. He couldn't stand to see his children eating plain macaroni and cheese, he always wanted to "ruin" it by adding and mixing in something to make it better.
Val leaves behind a huge hole in our lives. He is survived by his parents, wife, children, grandson; mother-in-law, Dorthy Reddig, and siblings; Kirt (Marilyn) Moser, Calvin (Brittany) Moser, David Moser (Sommer Templet), James (Brooke) Moser, Teri Moser (Harry Zeigler), Debbie (LaRon) Bond, and Ruth Moser; brothers and sisters-in-law; Eugene (Cyndi) Reddig, Andrew (Kirian) Reddig, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, David Alexander; his father-in-law, William Reddig; nephew, Andrew Reddig; grandparents Charles and Priscilla Moser, Lile and Georgia Rose Squires, and several aunts and uncles.
We who knew and loved Val are better people because we knew him. Our lives were enriched by our association with him.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 26, at noon at the North Logan 2nd Ward Chapel; 1105 East 2100 North, North Logan, Utah. A viewing will precede the funeral starting at 10:30am. Interment will be in the North Logan City Cemetery.
