Valene Lee Fuhriman
Valene Lee Fuhriman 89, of Providence, UT passed away
at home August 22nd, 2005 of causes incident to age.
She was born May 6th, 1916 in Hyde Park,UT the ninth
child of Francis C. And Julia Cash Lee.
She graduated from North Cache High School and
attended Utah State Agriculture College.
She married Jacob A. Fuhriman November 12th, 1935 in
the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
She served in many positions in the LDS church
including MIA president, Relief Society president,
Sunday School and Relief Society teacher.
She and her husband served as officiators in the Logan
Temple for more than 25 years, and they served 3
missions together, two in Nauvoo and one in the
Finance and Records Department at Church Headquarters.
She loved to travel, and she and her husband visited
all 50 states, and have taken several Caribbean
cruises. They have also visited every continent
except Antarctica.
She is survived by her husband Jacob A. Fuhriman of
Providence, and one sister, Inez Ivory of Payson, UT.
Valene and her husband are the parents of 6 children:
Reid (deceased) (Gwen); Deon Cole (Roger) Newport, OR;
Frank (Ann); Blaine (Kathy) of Providence UT; Faye
Nielsen (Richard) Kaysville, UT; and Neil (Genene)
Logan, UT.
They have 30 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren,
and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday August 27th at
ll:00 am in the Providence 4th Ward Chapel at 155 N.
100 E., with Bishop Blaine L. Fuhriman conducting
A viewing will be held at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34
E. Center St. Logan, Ut Friday August 26th, From 6:00
to 8:00pm, and on Saturday the 27th, from 9:30 to
10:45 am prior to the funeral.
Interment will be in the Providence City Cemetery.
The Family would like to thank the nurses, doctor and
Chaplin from “Hospice For Utah” for the tender and
loving care they rendered in behalf of our Mom.
