Valora "Val" Linneman
December 13, 1936 — May 6, 2006
LOGAN -- Valora “ Val” Linneman, 69, returned serenely back to her Heavenly Father May 6, 2006, at her home in Logan after complications from a stroke.
She was born December 13, 1936, to Lola Larsen Smith and Alvin Halcey Smith in Logan, Utah. She married Michael George Linneman on Sept. 17, 1977, in Newport Beach, Calif. They were blessed with a daughter, Teresa Michelle, who was the joy of their lives.
Val graduated from Logan High School and attended Utah State University before moving to Salt Lake City. She later moved to California where she lived for many years. She returned to Logan in 1981, where she has lived since then.
She was a muscle rehab therapist for 32 years. Her healing of aches and pains extended beyond muscles. She touched many lives and healed many hearts with her talent. She had an artistic, creative flare that showed through in her home and gifts to others. She had the ability to make a house a home, and loved entertaining, cooking and bringing together those around her.
She was a member of the LDS church and served in various callings. She was especially fond of teaching nursery and primary.
She is survived by her husband, Michael; daughter Teresa, Salt Lake; brother L. Jay Smith (Verna Lee), Logan; and many loving nieces and nephews who regarded her as their favorite aunt because she loved them and treated them like her own children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, older brother Alvar, and nephews Jade Brower and Gary Smith.
The family would like to thank their caring, wonderful friends and the members of the Cliffside 1st Ward for their kindness and service as well as the IHC Hospice staff.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 15, 2006 at 12 Noon in the Cliffside First Ward Chapel, 1380 East 25 North, Logan. A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, May 14, 2006 at the Allen-Cranney Mortuary, 420 East 1800 North, North Logan and also at the church on Monday from 10:30-11:30 AM. Burial will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
