Valouie Jones age 76 passed away peacefully in her home November 2, 2013 from ovarian cancer.
She was born December 29, 1936 in Beaver Dam Utah to Delbert and Elizabeth Kidman. Her mother died when she was 6 years old. Her father then married Melba Maughan. Valouie attended and graduated from Bear River High School. She married Deloy Oscar Christensen June 29, 1956, they had three children together Linda, Dale and Val Dee. They made their home in Garland, Utah until Deloy was tragically killed October 27, 1965 in an accident at Thiokol.
She then married Henry K. Jones May 23, 1967 and had two more sons Robert and Kevin. Henry passed away March 4, 1979 from lung cancer.
Mom was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. She served in various callings including Primary President, Relief Society President along with many other callings.
Mom loved her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. She supported them in whatever activities they were involved in. She attended horse shows, cow shows and rodeos. She loved to watch them play sports and became an excellent scorekeeper and cheerleader.
She loved her yard and flowers and spent countless hours taking care of them.
Mom’s life was full of challenges. She never complained about any of them. She said her toughest challenge was the loss of her grandson Courtney. She was a strong lady.
She is survived by her children Linda (David) Hansen, Dale (Leisa) Christensen, Val Dee (Lannis) Christensen, Robert Jones, Kevin (Tara) Jones.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, parents and step mother. Her brothers Delbert, Verle, Doyle, LeRoy(her twin) and grandson Courtney Deloy Christensen.
Funeral services for VaLouie will be held at the LDS Church Woodruff Ward located at 650 South 1800 West Logan at 11:00 on Wednesday November 6. Viewings will be held on Tuesday November 5 from 6-8 p.m. at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street in Logan, and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. the day of the funeral at the church.
