Van Burt Johnson DDS unexpectedly passed away on the morning of April 23, 2017.
Van lived a life full of rich experiences. He was born on October 14, 1955 at Edwards Air Force Base in California. He was raised around the world, in places such as Germany, France, Greece and St. Louis, Missouri. His family settled in Brigham City, Utah, and he graduated from Box Elder High School in 1974.
Van served an honorable mission in Taipei, Taiwan. After completing his mission, he returned to Utah and continued his education at Brigham Young University. He met Patricia Harrison in Brigham City and they were married on April 21, 1978 in the Salt Lake Temple. He continued his education at the University of Iowa. After completing a residency at the University of Utah, he moved his family to the Logan area where he raised his family and served his community as a dentist. He continued to strive for excellence in his field and earned many honors, including the title of a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD).
Van was a strong presence in all that he did. He was active in the community. He was part of many choirs, dental organizations and the Kiwanis Club. Van was active LDS church, and he served in many callings. He spent many years serving in the University Wards and loved his time serving there.
Van never lost his love of travel and was always planning his next big adventure. He was able to travel to England, Mexico, China, and all over the United States. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing whenever and where ever he could. He fished from Hawaii to the coasts of Alaska.
We will miss him until we will see him again. He is survived by his wife, Patricia, his children, Laura Bischoff (Gary), Heidi Jenkins (Justin) and Luke Johnson (Courtney) and their families. He is also survived by his father, Sidney Johnson, and his siblings, Scott Johnson (Jane), Karen Tam and David Johnson (Heidi Stroessner-Johnson) and their families. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Mae Burt Johnson.
A viewing will be held at Allen Mortuary of North Logan on Thursday, April 27 from 6-8PM. (420 E. 1800 N). An additional viewing will be held from 9:30 - 10:30 at the LDS Church House on 1105 E. 2100 N. North Logan Utah. Funeral services will begin at 11AM.
