He started his life on this earth September 18, 1919
in Young Ward, Utah, the son of Ray Emil Jensen and
Selma Anderson Jensen.
In 1936 he, his father and one brother formed the
famous "Jensen Bros. Hereford" Partnership and they
have been well known for raising and selling many
prize purebred cattle.
He served in the armed forces during World War II in
the Philippines and Japan. He has held several
positions in the L.D.S. church including counselor in
the Bishopric, in the Stake Sunday School Presidency,
18 years as Scout Master and others. Dad has also been
active in civic affairs, serving on the Soil
Conservation District Board, President of the
Intermountain Hereford Association, President of the
Utah Hereford Association, Superintendant of the Beef
Cattle Division for the Golden Spike Livestock Show
and the Utah State Fair.
Dad played an important part in the very existence of
the Cache Valley Hunter Education Center. The 11 acres
at the mouth of Dry Canyon was purchased for and
outdoor shooting range in 1949 for $500.00 and in 1993
was appraised for over $250,000. Many of the
membership of the Logan Rifle and Pistol Club wanted
to sell and split the profit, but Dad had more vision
of the Valley's need for a shooting range. With the
help of a handful of members, they were able to
negotiate a trade for the land that now houses the
Cache Valley Hunter Education Center.
