PETERSBORO- Vaughn Marion Peterson, 70, had a big heart that just couldn't keep up with his ambitious work ethic.
Vaughn was born July 13, 1946, in Logan, Utah. He was the third of three children, the baby of his family, to the late Oliver "O.H." and Virginia Pearl Peterson. He was married to the late Kay Lene Johnson Peterson on November 29, 1975, in Mendon, Utah. Vaughn spent many years alone after losing Kay Lene before he found his sweet wife Gladis H. Peterson. They were married April 23, 2005, in Logan, Utah.
He learned at a very young age the importance and meaning of a solid and reliable work ethic, which, he gained working on the original Peterson family farm. The farm was established by the first Peterson settlers in the late 1800's, which, became a viable source of resources for Cache Valley and other communities. Vaughn joined the U.S. Army Guard, and served state side during the Vietnam War. He married Kay Lene in 1975, and together they had their tender bundle of joy, Brandon Vaughn Peterson on January 6, 1978. They enjoyed raising him in Logan and Petersboro.
He carried on his passion of working with heavy machinery, which followed him through his professional work life, until retiring from J.B. Parsons. During this time, he would farm into the nights, and was also helping with the care of his strong-willed father "O.H.". He then spent his final years tinkering on the farm with his caring wife Gladis, and cute dog and companion, Chiquita. He is forever grateful for the care that Gladis gave him which allowed him to enjoy his time in his home, and at his wonderful farm.
He is survived by his wife Gladis H. Peterson, of Petersboro; his son Brandon Vaughn Peterson (Sarah), of Salt Lake City; his step-children, Aleyda Luu (Ty), of River Heights; Eric Flores (Chalise), of Beaverton, Oregon; Haydee Wilcox, of Perry, Utah; and many grandchildren that he loved seeing grow. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, and brother Perry Peterson, and wife Kay Lene.
