Veda accompanied her husband wherever he was assigned in the United States. In addition to Washington, DC, they lived near San Francisco and Los Angeles, California, and in Dallas, Texas. After her husband's retirement, Veda accompanied him around the United States in a travel trailer doing genealogy research six to nine months per year for over 20 years, with homes in various states throughout the nation. Her hobbies included sewing, quilting, reading, and crafts.
The loves of her life included the gospel of Jesus Christ, her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives, and friends. Veda also held several callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints: visiting teacher, Sunday School teacher, Cub Scout den mother, Primary secretary, Primary Stake Board in-service teacher, Relief Society teacher, Relief Society secretary, and Relief Society President in Texas and Arkansas. With her husband, Veda served a full-time mission in Arkansas.
