He belonged to the Richmond Lions Club and at one time served as its president. He also belonged to the Sons of Utah Pioneers, where he served in many positions including president.
He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many positions including bishop of the Cove Ward. He and Beth served in the Ogden LDS Temple, Orlando Florida LDS Temple and the Brigham City LDS Temple for a total of 18 years. They also served a mission to the England Birmingham Mission from 1994-96
Nard enjoyed traveling, gardening and being with friends. His true love was to be with his family. He is survived by his wife, Beth, and his children and their spouses: Jeanette and Howard Rawlings, Carroll, Iowa; Niel and Janette Allen, Hyde Park, Utah; Michael and Kaylene Allen, serving a mission in Oklahoma; William and Dixie Allen, Cove, Utah; Elaine and Greg Tuft, Provo, Utah; Donna and Blaine Butterworth, Kaysville, Utah; Michael and Holly Anderson, London, Ohio; Julie and Kurtis Hendricks, Brigham City, Utah; Karen and Erik Merkley, Providence, Utah; Lisa and Michael Duke, Perry, Utah.
