Obituary for Velda L. Heninger
Velda L. Heninger, 94, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Sunshine Terrace in Logan. She was born in Newton, Utah on June 11, 1916 to Loren and Amy Larsen, the first of 11 children. Velda married Vernon O. Heninger on July 17, 1935 in the Logan Temple.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various callings including Relief Society President in River Heights for many years.
Velda's greatest joy in life was her family and she cherished time spent with them. She had a special talent for crocheting, quilting, and sewing, and she loved to cook and can. She was also an excellent gardener and had a beautiful yard filled with flowers that people would come from all around to see.
Velda is survived by her son, Michael (Patty) Heninger of Hyrum, Utah, sister, Ila (Walter) Myers of Layton, Utah, 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings; husband Vern; son Garth; daughter Noma Lu Hulse; and a grandson.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, May 21, 2011 in Allen-Hall Mortuary Chapel, 34 E. Center Street, Logan. A viewing will be held prior to services on Saturday from 11:00 to 11:45 AM. at the mortuary. Interment will be at the Providence City Cemetery.
