Venita B. Stolworthy

April 6, 1936 — March 30, 2018

Venita Braithwaite Stolworthy was reunited with her eternal companion, Willard Olson Stolworthy, on Good Friday, March 30, 2018, after battling with Alzheimer’s dementia and declining health. She was loved by all who knew her and the sweetest and meekest individual we have ever known.

She was born on April 6, 1936, in Payson, Utah, to Ramona (Francom) and Melvin Braithwaite. She was raised in Spanish Fork, Utah, with her three siblings, Colleen, Ron & Geri. She graduated from Spanish Fork High School in 1954. She loved school and participated in a variety of activities. She loved her classmates and maintained many of these friendships throughout her life.

She met our father, Willard, through his younger sister and one of her best friends, Clara. She waited for him to return from his LDS mission. Shortly thereafter, they were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 2, 1958. They set a great example of a loving relationship.

She lived all over the United States as our father served in the United States Air Force. She raised seven children during this time. She loved being a homemaker and willingly devoted her life to her husband and children. No sacrifice was too big for Mom; it was never about her. She loved being a mother and having a beautiful, clean home. She was a wonderful cook. She welcomed all of our spouses as if they were her own.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities, including Relief Society and Primary. One of her favorites was as a pianist. She loved music, singing in choirs and playing the piano. Those memories are cherished and were missed as her health declined.

While she lived away, she always missed her family and friends back home in Utah. She was delighted to return to Utah after Dad’s retirement in 1983. They settled in Cache Valley and have called it home ever since. She has 29 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She loved every one of them. Gathering on holidays and family cookouts were very special to her. She loved Christmas time the most.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Olson Stolworthy, and her parents, Melvin and Ramona (Francom) Braithwaite. She is survived by her seven children and their spouses: Denise & Steve Webb, Kyle & Janet (Nichols) Stolworthy, Melissa & Mark Wootton, Rachelle & Scott Thomas, Ryan & Jenny (Davis) Stolworthy, Venicia & Todd Wilson, Amanda & Craig Walker. She is also survived by her sisters, Colleen (Wayne) Bateman, Geri (Curt )Robbins, and brother, Ron (Sharon) Braithwaite.

We want to thank Dr. Mark Firth, Bonnie Hart, Diane Crockett, & Access Hospice for the wonderful care they gave to our mother until the very end. We cannot thank them enough for the sweet care they gave to her.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Monday, April 9th at the Foxridge Ward LDS Chapel, 155 North 100 East in Providence. A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday evening at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center in Logan and from 10-11:30 a.m. prior to services at the church on Monday. Interment will be in the Millville City Cemetery. Condolences and thoughts may be expressed online at www.allenmortuaries.net .
