COLLEGE WARD/LOGAN, UTAH: Vera Anne Lenroot Stewart passed away peacefully on January 18, 2012 in the Logan Regional Hospital after a valiant and courageous life.
Born August 22,1939 in El Paso, Texas to Harold Lenroot and Vera Anderson Lenroot. She married Harold F. Stewart Jr. in Salt Lake City on February 27, 1961. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple.
During her happy childhood and adolescence she was blessed to grow up in the Holladay area of Salt Lake City. She loved socializing with people and never wanted to miss a gathering. She attended BYU, U of U and later graduated from Idaho State University with a degree in Early Childhood Development. College Ward, Utah eventually became her home where roots were established and they raised their 12 children. She taught at Wellsville Elementary and Early Head Start where she impacted the lives of dozens of children and families with many years of service.
She cherished her membership in The Church of Jesus of Latter-day Saints. Actively serving in various organizations. She also served missions with her sweetheart at the Utah Boys Ranch, Cache County Jail and Family History Center.
She will be remembered for her positive attitude and sense of humor even during many difficult years while battling illness.
Survived by her loving and eternal companion, Harold along with their 12 children and their spouses, Brian (Kim), Germany; Christine (Dale) Parkes, ST. George; Sandra (Rod) Wells, Wenatchee WA: Kathy (Mark) Robbins, Kaysville, UT; James (Janet), Bellvue WA; John (Angie), Perry, UT; Sam (Heidi) Bentonville, AR; Diana (Craig) Park, Logan, UT; Carol (Craig) Bond, Nibley, UT; Harold (Marcelle), Grantsville, UT; Daniel (Brittney), Laverkin, UT; Charity (Ben) Call, Ridgcrest, CA. She has 52 grandchildern and 11 great grandchildren. Also survived by her sister Ailene Lenroot Gygi. Preceeded in death by her father, Harold Lenroot and her mother Vera Anderson Lenroot and a brother, Rick Lenroot.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday January 24, 2012 at 10:00am in the College/Young Ward Chapel, 2394 West 2200 South Young Ward. With a viewing at 9:00 preceding the funeral. There will also be a viewing on Monday January 23, 2012 from 6 to 8 pm at Allen Hall Mortuary, Logan. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.allenmortuaries.net
