Verna Abel Turner, 83, of Logan, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2006 at Sunshine Terrace.
She was born May 7, 1922, in Lewiston, Utah. She was a daughter of Joseph B. Abel and Sarah A. McMurdie Abel. She married Horace J. Turner on Nov. 8, 1940, in Logan, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. She was raised in Lewiston and following her marriage lived in Logan. Mom loved her family, gardening and enjoyed crocheting. She was a member of the LDS Church.
She is survived by her husband, Horace, three children and their spouses:
Horace Lynn (Kathryn) Turner, Wellsville; Joseph Kevin (Kit) Turner, Rock Springs, Wy; Vicki Jo (Phillip) Chadburn, Hyrum. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 4 sisters. Her parents and one sister preceded her in death.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at the Logan City Cemetery under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary. No funeral or viewing will be held.We would like to thank all the staff at Sunshine Terrace Wing 1, Dr. Jeffery Huffman and his staff, The Alzheimer's Association for all the compassion and care they gave to her.
