Vicky Lue Johnson Fonnesbeck peacefully passed away at her home surrounded by family on November 13th after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Vicky was born in Logan, Utah on May 4, 1950 to James Warren Johnson and Jessie Lue Slack Johnson. She had one older bother, J.D., who she greatly admired. Vicky attended school at Ellis Elementary, Logan Junior High and Logan High School where she met her sweetheart, Jerry Evan Fonnesbeck. Jerry and Vicky married on May 11, 1968 and remained married until his death in July 2023.
They spent most of their lives in Logan where they worked and raised their three children - Patrick, Angela and Jason. Vicky loved sports and was a lifelong, true blue Aggie fan having had season tickets for Aggie football for many decades. Vicky was an avid gardener, whose canned green beans are legendary among her family. She loved to read and do puzzles. She loved music and was all in for Beatlemania. Vicky was an incredible seamstress who did more alterations and designed and sewed more prom and wedding dresses than can be counted. Her last project included pajama pants for her son-in-law, who will treasure them. But as creative as she was, Vicky loved nothing more than her family, including her children, in-law children, Meghan, Tom and Jill, nieces and nephews, 13 grandchildren, 4 great grand children and many grand pets. She doted on them all. She loved every minute she spent with them whether it was watching a movie, going bowling or attending kid sporting events. She loved and was loved beyond measure.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and grandson, Jaxon.
A special thank you to Dr. Richard Johnson at the Gossner Cancer Center, Dr. Trevor Smith at the Utah Kidney Clinic, and Monty Collins at PrimRose Home Care & Hospice for their superb treatment and care of our amazing mother. Thank you also to all the other medical providers, nurses, CNAs and staff for their compassion and kindness. You are all wonderful and the world is better because you are in it.
