Virginia Jessop Jenson, 92, passed away peacefully in Logan, Utah on June 26, 2014. Born January 19, 1922 to Les and Carrie Jessop in Millville, Utah, she was the seventh of fourteen children. Virginia married Theil L. Jenson on June 25, 1942. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS temple.
Attending Cache County schools, Virginia won many blue ribbons in track and field. She loved sporting events of all kinds and played shortstop on several fast pitch softball teams. She took great joy in attending USU and Jazz games as well as watching the athletics of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
While working for Woodbury Cold Storage, American Foods, Wilkinson & Sons, Wurlitzer, and Utah State University, Virginia developed an incredible work ethic that she made a point of passing on to her family. She was also the long-time librarian in her ward.
Virginia is survived by her daughter Tamera Fitting, grandchildren Cindy Yeates (Steven) and Darren Fitting (Theresa), great grandchildren Alyson Brown (Brandon), Mallory Yeates, Riley Yeates, and Jaycson Yeates, and by sisters-in-law Maurine, Dortha, and Jeri.
Her parents, brothers Keith, Sheldon, Don, Melvin, Richard, and Calvin, and her sisters Lucille Godfrey, Carma Jessop, Afton Udy, Fern Scott, Ione Jessop, Dixie Olsen, and Margene Jessop preceded Virginia in death. She also follows her loving husband Theil in death. Theil passed away just nine months ago.
Funeral services for Virginia will be held at 12:00 Noon on Monday, June 30, 2014 at the Millville 5th Ward Chapel, 450 North 360 East, with a preceding viewing from 10-11:30AM. Internment will be at the Millville City Cemetery.
