Virginia vonStorch passed away peacefully on April 23, 2011 in Logan, Utah. She was born in Salt Lake City on March 7, 1918 and was the last surviving sibling of seven children born to John and Alice Malecker.
Virginia was raised in Helper, Utah, where her father worked for the D&RG Railroad as an engineer. She attended Carbon High School, graduating as Valedictorian of her senior class.
She was lucky enough to have married three wonderful men. Frank Barboglio who died in 1954, Frank Colombo who died in 1969, and Robert vonStorch who died in 2000.
Virginia was very active in golf and was an excellent bridge player. She spent many hours enjoying these activities. She always loved to entertain and was a gourmet cook.
She had the opportunity to live and travel extensively throughout her life. She traveled around the world and lived in Utah, Colorado, Pennsylvania, California and most recently at Williamsburg Retirement Center and Logan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Virginia was the mother of two children, Ginger (Perry) Christensen of Logan and Frank Colombo of New York. She had five step-daughters and six grandchildren and one great grandson.
She will be laid to rest with a memorial service at Wasatch Lawn Cemetery, 3401 South Highland Drive in Salt Lake City on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 12:00PM. Condolences may be sent to the family at
