Von Allen Mitton

December 5, 1935 — November 28, 2005

WELLSVILLE, UTAH: On Monday November 28, 2005 our eternal sweetheart, father and grandpa Dr. Von Allen Mitton joined his heavenly family in a great family reunion.

He was the most charitable person. He served others through out his life. Not only with his talents as an oral surgeon but he also loved to secretly help people monitarily in their times of need. He was our greatest example of living a Christlike life. Even in death he continues to give.

Von Allen Mitton was born on December 5, 1935 in Mount Sterling, Utah a son of Allen Garrett and Maxine Valentines Bowles Mitton.

He attended Floridel Elementary School, Wellsville Jr. High School and graduated from South Cache High School in 1954.

Von Allen accomplished so many wonderful things while he was here on earth. He served in the 511th Airborne Infantry Regiment of the 11th Airborne Division and the 307 Airborne Medical Battallion from 1954-1956. He then served his Heavenly Father on an LDS mission to the Northern California Mission from 1956 - 1959. He and his wife Suzanne also served the Lord in the St. Petersburg Russia Mission from 1993-1994.

Von graduated from Utah State University and then the University of Washington Dental School in 1966. He did his oral surgery training at Highland Hospital in Oakland, California.

From California the family moved to Alaska for 18 years. Von Allen loved the great outdoors and he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was an Eagle Scout, a professional ski instructor, and a commercial pilot who loved to fly his plane. We will always remember his gardening and farming skills and his love of telling jokes, usually stupid ones!! He had a great sense of humor! Von and Suzanne loved to travel the world and have so many wonderful memories of all their trips.

Von Allen was a very active member of the LDS Church and served in many callings. His favorites were missionary work and going to the temple. Von is survived by his loving eternal companion, Suzanne Elizabeth Silbaugh. They were sealed in the Logan Temple December 20th 1965. He is also survived by his 2 children who love him beyond words. Dr. Allen (Kaylin) Mitton of Wellsville, UT and Cherie (Steven) Griffin of Plain City, UT.
Von has 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild whom he adored and they adored Grandpa! William, Laura, Katlin, Chase, Hannah, Olivia, Keegan, Alexis, and Lydia. He is survived by 3 brothers, Bernard, Terry, and James.

We will love and miss you forever!!
