It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of one of God’s finest, Wade ValJean Facer. After fighting a long battle with a rare form of Leukemia, he left this mortal existence at the age of 88 in the arms of his loving wife on September 13, 2024. He didn’t fight the battle alone, but did it with his cherished eternal companion, Norma Facer. That fight was reminiscent of their union throughout the years, living life side by side.

He was born with a soul that radiated light that would draw people in. Throughout his life, he exemplified integrity, generosity, compassion, and love. He was truly a noble spirit that lived to bless the lives of others by his mere presence.

Wade was born November 12, 1935 to Lester and Rosabel Facer. He was the youngest of 9 children, having 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Wade loved his siblings. Even though he was the baby, He spent his life trying to keep his childhood family close and cared for.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and believed in God and in His son Jesus Christ and tried to follow their example.

In his youth, Wade loved and participated in sports and also with his beautiful voice, performed in several High School musicals.

Wade honorably served in the United States Army as Specialist third class and in the National Guard. He was proud of his country and encouraged others to honor it as well. After his service in the military, he married the love of his life Norma Claire Dobson July 26, 1957 in the Logan Utah Temple.

With honor and integrity, Wade had several places of employment and ultimately finished a long successful career in the aerospace defense industry, as an executive at Morton Thiokol.

Wade and Norma have 3 children ValJean – Dan Burt, Kurt D. – Kelly Facer and Jolene – Brad Call. They have been blessed with 17 Grandchildren, 51 Great Grandchildren and one Great Great Grandchild who love him dearly.

Wade had many hobbies he enjoyed. He found peace and quiet moments spending time fly fishing and tying flies, but what he loved more was tying together his relationships with his friends and family.

Wade succeeded at perfecting his golf game, but succeeded more at perfecting his love for his wife, Norma.

In his younger days, he was building bridges throughout Oregon, but, in his older years, he was building bridges of connectivity. Connecting people and family together is what Wade did best.

In his family’s opinion, Wade grew “prize winning” tomatoes and produce and ultimately gave most of it away but what he really grew, was a profound respect and admiration from others.

As a fisherman, he found himself in scenic rivers and caught numerous fish, however, he would tell you that Norma caught the biggest and the most. Trying to follow the attributes of Christ, Wade was actually a “fisher of men” finding and caring for others.

Wade had a genuine love of people and nature. Whether it was through his thoughtful interactions, his deep respect for humanity, or the gentle way he treated every living being, Wade lived an exemplary life. He valued all from the smallest creature to the biggest heart.

He leaves behind a legacy of compassion, generosity, kindness, integrity, and most of all LOVE that will be cherished by all who were blessed to know him.

Wade will be profoundly missed but his memory will live on in our hearts forever.

The family would like to thank all that helped with the Caring of Wade V. Facer
