Willis Lee Harrison

Willis Lee “Bud” Harrison died peacefully Monday, March 4, 2019 at his home.
Bud leaves his wife of thirty-two years, Caroline (Keene), his daughter KimberLee and her husband Anthony Bush, son Jason Harrison, son Lee Harrison and his wife Dori, son Gavin Harrison and his wife Patty, step-sons James Keene and his wife Cherie, John Keene and his companion Joy, Jeffrey Keene and his wife Traci, and Joseph Keene and his wife Barbara, and twenty grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is survived by his older sister, Louise Evans of Reno, Nevada and younger brother, Larry Harrison of Brigham City, Utah. He leaves aunts and uncles and cousins and many dear friends. Bud was preceded in death by his mother, Mollie, and father, Willis John, and his daughter, KeLee Harrison Summers and Caroline’s daughter Kathryn Kelly Keene
Bud was born in Fruita, Colorado January 14, 1937. His family moved around quite a bit between Colorado and Babbit, Nevada while he was young. He graduated high school in Hawthorne, Nevada in 1955.
He married Marlene Matson in 1958 and they had 5 children. Bud attended Brigham Young University and graduated in 1961 with a degree in mechanical engineering. After graduation Bud worked for Hercules in Salt Lake, Utah. In 1964 they moved to Boulder, Colorado where Bud worked for Dow Chemical. In 1971 Bud was hired as an engineer for Eastman Kodak overseeing the construction of their plant in Windsor, Colorado. In 1986 Marlene and Bud ended their marriage and he married Caroline Keene who he would spend the rest of his life with. After retiring from Kodak in 1987, he was employed by Marriott in Silver Springs, Maryland.
Bud and Caroline lived in many diverse and lovely communities. They lived in Colorado, Florida, California, Maryland, Arizona, and then settled in Logan, Utah. They both loved Cache Valley and were happy to call it home for the past four years.
Bud loved work. He always had a project or two; whether restoring a car or restoring a house he was extremely capable and had boundless energy. He never hesitated to help friends and family. We will miss his generosity, happy smile and busy hands.
A lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bud was happy working with youth. As he grew older, he loved Family History work and gospel teaching.
Bud had many hobbies. He was a river runner and enjoyed many trips down the Middle Fork, Yampa and Green rivers. He enjoyed photography and had a beautiful eye. He loved restoring sports and muscle cars.
A funeral will be held for Bud on Saturday, March 9th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel at 360 W 3200 S in Logan, UT. The viewing will be at 9:00 am and the funeral at 10:00 am. Bud will be interred in Fruita, Colorado later this spring.
The family would love to thank all the wonderful doctors and nurses at Logan Regional Hospital and LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City. As his life ended, we were blessed by the incredible nurses and doctors with Encompass Health. They were so kind and brought a lot of peace to Caroline. Thank you.
