Wilma Woffinden Mauchley, 82, of Logan passed away January 1, 2013, at Terrace Grove Assisted Living.
Wilma was born November 3, 1930, in Garden City, Utah, to Ernest and Viola Sims Woffinden. She attended elementary school in Garden City. When she was 11, her family moved to Layton, Utah. She graduated from Davis High School in 1949. She then graduated from Beauty School in Ogden. She served an LDS mission to Western Canada from November 1953 to May 1955. She married Don Mauchley on February 13, 1959. They lived in Salt Lake and then moved to Nibley, and then later to Logan, where they stayed.
They had three children: Gary, Glade, and Gay. Wilma was involved in the PTA, served as president and also in many other capacities. She was active in the Eliza R. Snow Camp in DUP. She became a CNA and worked many years at the Sunshine Terrace. She ran her own beauty shop out of her home for many, many years and also became a beautician at the Sunshine Terrace. She worked at the Ellis School as a reading aide for many years as well.
She had a strong testimony of the gospel and held various church callings, which were all very important to her. She loved poetry and wrote poems for almost any occasion for family, friends and acquaintances. She was very proud of her family and loved them very much. Wilma always led an active life and dedicated herself to service and helping others. She was a kind and loving person and touched many lives. She was a great example to all of us. We love you and will miss you!
Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Don; son, Gary; two sisters and three brothers. She is survived by her son, Glade (Jodee) Mauchley; daughter, Gay (Paul) Leishman, and ten grandchildren. Special thanks to the staff of Terrace Grove for their love and tender care for our mother and grandmother.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 4, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center, Logan. A viewing will be Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the Allen-Hall Mortuary. Interment will be in the Logan Cemetery.
