W. Royce (Bud) King

William Royce (Bud) King passed away Monday Oct. 17th 2011 at his home in Smithfield surrounded by his family after a long battle with heart disease. He was born May 5th, 1993 on the family farm in Millville ,UT. He was 78 years old.
As a young boy, while his father worked construction, he had a lot of responsibility taking care of the family garden. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, camping and the outdoors. Royce graduated from Logan High School were he participated in wrestling and track. While attending Logan High he met and fell in love with his sweetheart, Janis Schiffman. They were sealed in the Logan temple on July 10th 1953.
Royce served in the Armed forces for two years with his wife in Georgia and Alaska as a radio technician. He had such a great love for the gospel and served in many different callings in the LDS church over the years. Royce was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed all of his family, continually giving lots of love and receiving lots in return. He is loved so very much and will be missed greatly.
Royce is preceded in death by his parents, William Lewis King and Rosella Winberg King, his sister Sherrill Nyman and a grandson Jaden King.
Royce is survived by his wife Janis King of Smithfield. Four children Kurt (Christy) King of Huson, MT, Terry (Curt) Cozzens of Buckeye, AZ, Bart (Judy) King of Smithfield, UT and Kelly (Julie) King of Smithfield, UT., 35 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, October 22, 2011 in the Smithfield 16th Ward Chapel, 451 South 200 East in Smithfield. A viewing will be held on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Allen Mortuary of North Logan, 420 East 1800 North in North Logan, and prior to the services on Saturday at the Church beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net
